Language

Language delays/disorders may exist due to a variety of  conditions. The following therapy services are individually designed to support language development in the following areas:

  • Expressive Language

  • Receptive Language

  • Reading comprehension

  • Pragmatic (social) Language

  • Augmentative Communication Training

Literacy

Reading, spelling, and writing  are language-based skills.  Difficulty with these skills is not due to level of intelligence.  Early speech and language problems can lead to later reading and writing difficulties, so it is important to monitor skills early on and get support, if needed. PTC is happy to offer full evaluations and treatment for:

  • Speech and Language as precursors to literacy

  • Pre-Literacy Skills

  • Phonemic Awareness

  • Multi-sensory approaches to literacy remediation
